Frequently Asked Questions
In Game FAQ
Can you take over your avatar?
Yes.
How can you tell who is your avatar?
Something to do with the Cartographer's Measure (Diego's Sword).
How is your avatar created and can you have more than one?
When you enter DX 49 each atom of your being is read and a clone is made of you. This clone, or Avatar, may be totally different in appearance and manner to your own character. If you have entered DX49, gone back out to the real world, then come back in, or, if a Construct Avatar is made, you can have more than one Avatar.
Is [such and such] an avatar?
For me to know and you to find out, somehow :P
Is there a danger of getting rematerialised with other objects every time you jump dimensions?
Yes!
What are Chompers?
Cybernetic beings that carry a nanite based virus that turns the victim into a Chomper themselves.
Are they everywhere or just in the City Dimension?
At this time they are only in The City.
Gameplay FAQ
Can I introduce my own NPCs?
Yes. Please make the NPC's as original as you can, the more of your imagination you show, the more likely that NPC will have a definite impact on the plot.
Can I control other NPCs?
No. Once the GMs 'take over' the play of an NPC you have created you are no longer allowed to play it...before that point GO FOR IT, as sometimes, the GMs leave them for you to play.
What about other things like weather, traffic, if there's a toilet close by, apocalyptic second comings?
Environmental freeforming is encouraged, yet, please try to keep it within the vein of the story.
What do I do if someone misreads my post and thinks I'm in a different place?
If possible, continue on as if they have not moved you, even try to make a mockery of their silliness somehow. Yet, if this is not possible, the GMs will cover it.
Can I discuss game elements with other players?
Yes. We like you to help each other, but advise you to keep what you know to yourself as this is a very personal type of game and it is nice to let misconceptions run riot.
When is it allowed (not allowed) to have private discussions with other players and do I have to post it to the whole group?
Only when it is applicable within the story and when the major plot elements do not have to be worked upon. We try to encourage everyone to discuss ALL mysteries and puzzles about the game, IN game. If more of these were discussed in game then it would benefit the gameplay dramatically.
